Our History

In 1881, a young entrepreneur named "Ahmed Ali Agha Al-Sofaqati" opened a shell wood dressing workshop. He did not have a brand at the time, but he had big ideas and a clear and ambitious vision, and he was striving and dedicated so that his products would always be of high quality and a source of inspiration to his customers. Over the years successes rolled and his business flourished. In 1979 his sons established Damas Art in Damascus, where they continued their father's legacy and were able to build a globally recognized brand. In recent years, they have reorganized their brand to meet the challenges of their expanding organization, and we became the Damas Art of the Omani company “Al Maha Business Development”, which is recognized under the Omani Investment Law, representing them in the Sultanate of Oman, with headquarters in Muscat.
